Emil Baumann - oil crayon on sketchpad paper, 14X17 inches

Emil Baumann is a prolific visual artist based in Powelton Village. He developed as an artist while
residing in Africa as a teenager in the early 1990s and had his first exhibitions in Kenya; the
works in this show come from that period. His largest commission is the mural at 36th St.
and Lancaster Ave. that is now partially obscured by the terrace of Madis Coffee.

Tom Goodman, "Raining Jewels," archival inkjet on Canson Edition Etching paper, 13x19 inches

Tom Goodman was born in Baltimore in 1948. He graduated from Wesleyan University in 1969 with
honors in Art and received an MFA from the University of New Mexico in 1973. In 1975 he was hired
by the University of Texas at San Antonio to develop the photography program. Three years later he
moved to Philadelphia to teach at the University of the Arts (then PCA). He also taught history of Art
at the Curtis Institute of Music. During this period he began Tom Goodman Inc., an agency
representing photographers and digital illustrators for commercial assignments. In 2008 Goodman
began photographing again for the first time in nearly twenty-five years and in 2009 he dissolved
his corporation to re-devote himself full-time to art.

Mark Willie, untitled, lithography and mixed-media collage on paper, 8x8 inches on 13x16 sheet

Mark Willie’s work is primarily derived from plein air landscape studies: the drawing, painting,
collaging, mark-making process emerges through the experience (contemplative or spontaneous)
of the environment of which it is engaged. Mark's esthetic and fine-art process are distinct from,
but influenecd by, his work as a practitioner and teacher of graphic design. He recently
retired as a Taeching Professor at Drexel to dedicate himself more fully to his art practice.
